Public Consultation: National Park Design Planning Document (SPD) – open until 6th September

The South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) has prepared a Design Guide Supplementary Planning Document. This substantial 72 page Design SPD (when approved) will provide further guidance to support the implementation of South Downs Local Plan policy SD5 Design. It builds on Local Plan design policies and provides guidance to applicants on a range of design issues relevant to new development. Scope of guidance This document is relevant to both residential and non-residential developments in the National Park and will influence SDNPA responses to consultations on developments just outside the National Park boundary. The draft Design SPD is available until Monday 6 September 2021 for public comment. Comments can be sent by email to planningpolicy@southdowns.gov.uk or in writing to The South Downs Centre, North Street, Midhurst GU29 9DH and marked for the attention of Mark Waller-Gutierrez, Specialist Lead. The final draft will be reviewed to reflect public responses, which will be reported to the SDNPA Planning Committee when it is asked to consider adoption of the document.
