Calling time on intensive chicken farming

The launch of the National Food Strategy sparked a great deal of debate about the health and impacts of our diets, and it was no surprise that the report’s call for ‘less but better meat’ caught the media’s attention. Whilst the focus is often on red meat, here the Soil Association explore the importance of ending the intensive farming of chicken and the environmental impact of the huge amount of imported soya it relies on.
